Today was my friend’s birthday!!! So in addition to being able to eat delicious New Year rice cake yesterday, I got to eat seaweed soup too because that’s what Korean people eat on birthdays 🙂 No pictures available 😦
Onto today’s schedule: as the weather network promised, it was going to rain this day … and it did. We were supposed to go to this awesome place with cable cars and a fantastic view of the west sea but we had to change plans.
Instead, we went to a manga store! I think the name is Carpe Diem manga store … ? There are tables, lawn chairs, and even bunk beds to feel right at home.
Except most of the books are in Korean! It took me three hours to read just 20 pages and they had pictures…. Plus, I got distracted by this little cutie.
There is a large white cat as well and they fight for attention. They seem to spend most of the time fighting or sleeping … keke
Approximate location of the cafe:
It is my friend’s birthday dinner!! We went to Outback and had steak.

Seollal is a four day weekend, so the next day was also a holiday. I stayed at my friend’s place and watched television until we left for the bus terminal. The terminal was packed full of people coming and I was scared that I might miss my bus.
In the end, I made it. Leaving Gwangju was nothing like going there since it was a completely full bus! However, the highway was quite free of traffic.
We stopped midway at a rest stop.
More highway photos.
I got back before the suggested time and went to eat Samgyupsal, BBQ meat!!! It was so delicious … perfect way to end the long weekend 🙂
… ah, there was also coffee at Angel-in-us:)
